66162 'Maritime Intermodal Five' heads south through the cutting at Welbeck shortly afterwards with 4L45 1004 Wakefield Europort - Felixstowe Docks (04/08/2021)

The unique 'Puma'-liveried 60074 'Luke' speeds north past the Welbeck Landfill site with the 'WO' 6D79 0835 Lindsey Oil Refinery - Neville Hill fuel train. Since the start of the Pandemic last year this working has operated at best fortnightly and occasionally at three-week intervals so to capture it both in decent light and with some quality heritage traction at the helm made this morning's trip out to Normanton more than worthwhile (04/08/2021)

66723 'Chinook' passes the site of the former Goose Hill Junction at Normanton with an additional 6D64 0825 Rylstone - Scunthorpe loaded stone train. The clouds had been building up since just before the arrival of 6D79 an hour earlier but with the sun now partially obscured this one's still turned out considerably better than I was expecting (04/08/2021)

66724 drifts down the last few miles of the 'Long Drag' at Selside with 4N03 1127 Carlisle NY - Clitheroe conveying empty tanks for loading at the Castle Cement complex (30/08/2021)

66122 leads 6K05 1246 Carlisle NY - Crewe Basford Hall away from Ribblehead at Lodge Hall. Freightliner's 66550 was in transit having presumably been used on engineering haulage duties for Network Rail over the weekend (30/08/2021)

70814 departs from Blea Moor Up Goods Loop with the loaded 6J37 1258 Carlisle NY - Chirk Kronospan timber train (30/08/2021)

A few minutes later 43290 leads 1Qxx 1114 Heaton T&RSMD - York Network Rail test train past the same spot (30/08/2021)

Just as it was time to head back into Leeds the sun finally broke through, and despite not having my SLR with me today (I was en route to concert) I did my best to record the spectacular sight of a pair of former Scottish Region Type 2s tackling the Worth Valley using the camera on my mobile phone. 26007 + 27001 climb towards Ingrow West with the 1830 Keighley - Oxenhope (10/09/2021)

31128 + 33029 clatter through Hunslet with West Coast Railways' 1Z24 0740 Carnforth - Scarborough charter. The pair had been rostered to mark the final run of the 'Scarborough Spa Express' this year and worked as far as Holgate Loop outside York. It's not often I'll bemoan the appearance of the sun but its angle at the time this train passes through my locality meant I was really struggling for locations this morning (16/09/2021)

GWR's 43188 'Newport Castle' leads 2E12 0852 Penzance - Exeter into Bodmin Parkway (18/09/2021)

47306 and 50042 stand side by side at Bodmin General. The RfD 'European' livery adorning ' The Sapper' mean that it's not quite a re-creation of a typical early 1990s scene in the West Country but it's close enough (18/09/2021)

50042 'Triumph' stabled at Bodmin General. The loco is nearing a return to traffic and was undergoing testing within the station limits later that afternoon (18/09/2021)

50049 + 50007 accelerate through Bodmin Parkway with Pathfinder Tours' returning 1Z69 1603 Penzance - Birmingham New Street 'Mazey Day Cornishman' charter. I didn't have the camera with me today so this is an edited mobile phone grab as I'd literally arrived seconds earlier having walked down the hill from Bodmin General for a train back to Taunton (18/09/2021)

With a tatty-looking rake of hoppers in tow, 66736 'Wolverhampton Wanderers' crawls off Ribblehead Viaduct with the loaded 6M37 1125 Arcow - Pendleton. The train's departure from Blea Moor Loop had unexpectedly been delayed by a points failure and a huge bank of cloud from the Lake District was beginning to populate what an hour previously had been clear blue skies (20/09/2021)
