The signalling problems had also trapped 4N03 1127 Carlisle Yard - Clitheroe Castle Cement, which ironically had been running a few minutes early until it hit Blea Moor! 66701 leads the empty cement tanks towards Ribblehead station shortly afterwards once its class mate had cleared the section to Horton (20/09/2021)
I'd not been intending to be anywhere near the 'S&C' today but the combination of some spectacular weather and the opportunity to photograph three trains in the space of an hour across lunchtime prompted a change of plan - particuarly as the third of the trio involved a flow that's not been seen for some time. 66702 'Blue Lightning' powers towards Salt Lake Cottages with 6E69 1254 Ribblehead - Hunslet Tilcon which had been loaded earlier that morning with stone from Ingleton in the former ballast sidings adjacent to the station (20/09/2021)
Running as 0K05 1246 Carlisle Kingmoor - Crewe Basford Hall, DRS' 66305 + 66430 + 68003 pass Lodge Hall south of Ribblehead. I've attempted this shot three or four times in recent months and typically on the day I finally captured the working in some decent light it didn't have any wagons on it! A single loco would clearly have been a considerably worse result though so I mustn't grumble (20/09/2021)
