The evening's star attraction turned up nearly an hour late after delays incurred on the steam-hauled section over the S&C: 86259 'Les Ross' is seen passing Winwick with 1Z87 1422 Carlisle - Euston charter (26/06/2021)
Following just a few minutes behind the '86' was 66167 on 4M30 1028 Grangemouth - Daventry. Despite the apparent darkness there was still plenty of sunlight around, but frustratingly most of it accompanied me on my drive back across the M62 shortly afterwards (26/06/2021)
After discharging its load of stone from Peak Forest, 66790 eases 4D78 0817 Stourton Cemex - Doncaster Down Decoy out of the shunt neck alongside Midland Road and rejoins the main line. The weather conditions weren't exactly spectacular this morning but as I was dropping off a hire-car at the end of the road I thought I may as well make use of the opportunity to photograph a working I've never previously made the effort to cover (28/06/2021)
