40145 brings up the rear of 1Z40 0835 Skipton - Appleby at Blea Moor. The CFPS veteran is currently on a 6-month loan to LSL and was making a guest appearance to mark the last day of the 'Staycation Express' venture (12/09/2020)

With 1Z40 having to stand at Blea Moor for a couple of minutes until the unit in front had cleared the section to Garsdale, there was just enough time to walk further up the path beyond the Signal Box and grab a bonus back-end shot of the '40' (12/09/2020)

In full cry on the final stages of the climb, 40145 approaches the northern portal of Blea Moor Tunnel at Mossy Bottom with 1Z42 1035 Appleby - Skipton. Typically on a day of high winds and very changeable weather, this scene was bathed in glorious sunshine less than thirty seconds later (12/09/2020)

40145 brings up the rear of 1Z43 1218 Skipton - Appleby on the approach to Blea Moor. It's not often I'll complain about the sunlight but I really wasn't expecting any here and the angle's just a little bit too harsh (12/09/2020)

40145 brings up the rear of 1Z45 1612 Skipton - Appleby as 47712 approaches Selside. Eight weeks on from the first empty stock movement for this programme of trains, it feels quite appropriate that my last trip out to record them at work on the S&C should end at the same location as the first began (12/09/2020)

Colas Rail Freight's 56113 + 56090 speed through Horbury Cutting with the 6E32 1005 empty bitumen tanks from Preston Docks to Lindsey Oil Refinery. This is a scene I've been wanting to capture for a long time now, and ironically I was blissfully of the 'Grids' until I got there having assumed the train would be in the hands of the more usual '70' (14/09/2020)

68033 descends towards Dewsbury at Crackenedge with TPE's 1F72 1534 Scarborough - Liverpool. The shot I was hoping to do has already been lost amidst the late summer shadows so this was something of a salvage job (14/09/2020)

Just a few miles into its journey, Freightliner's 66519 weaves through Normanton with the lengthy 4L87 0851 Leeds FLT - Felixstowe North intermodal service (15/09/2020)

The driver of 37716 re-applies the power having negotiated the speed restriction through the up platform at Normanton. The loco was working 0Z91 0855 York Parcel Siding to Bradford Interchange as a route refresh ahead of the fast-approaching RHTT season in which DRS crews will be heavily involved (15/09/2020)

With the morning sun now beginning to rise above the cutting at Newlands, 66051 'Maritime Intermodal Four' heads south with the 4L45 1004 Wakefield Europort - Felixstowe South DB Cargo intermodal (15/09/2020)

68032 'Destroyer' climbs past Killingback on the outskirts of Leeds with TPE's 1E35 1154 Liverpool - Scarborough service (19/09/2020)

68025 'Superb' speeds through Killingbeck in the opposite direction half an hour later with 1F66 1234 Scarborough - Liverpool. It's only around eighteen months since I was last at this location but it's unfortunately another vantage point that's been lost to nature (19/09/2020)
