The fact that I've been waiting the best part of three months to have a proper go at this shot (having invested in a fold-up plastic stool to see over the top of the bridge) is an illustration of both the increasing scarcity of freight flows through these parts and how little decent weather we've seen in Leeds during that time. Even today a very thin layer of cloud still got in on the act but the result could clearly have been much worse! 66747 'Made in Sheffield' approaches Balm Road from the Leeds direction with the 6M38 1125 Arcow - Bredbury loaded stone train (20/08/2020)
Running over an hour and a half early (aided no doubt by a lighter than usual load of ballast!) Colas Rail Freight's 70810 powers north at Selside with 6C89 0836 Mountsorrel - Carlisle NY (24/08/2020)
With 24 loaded stone hoppers in tow, 66778 'Cambois Depot: 25 Years' crawls towards Selside at little more than walking pace with the 6E77 1645 Arcow - Hunslet (24/08/2020)
