37714 arrives into Loughborough Central later that afternoon with the 1445 from Leicester North. The day's timetable had been plunged into chaos by a lineside fire near Quorn, which had resulted in an immediate ban on the use of steam locos during the spell of hot dry weather (01/07/2018)
Having run round its train, 37714 is seen departing Loughborough Central with the 1530 to Leicester North (01/07/2018)
GBRf's celebrity last-built '66' no 66779 'Evening Star' passes though Stourton Cutting with 6Dxx 1650 Doncaster Hexthorpe - Rylstone stone empties (02/07/2018)
158759 approaches Eastwood in the Calder Valley with Northern's 1B35 1612 York - Preston service (04/07/2018)
Following shortly behind was 66735 with 4M09 1608 Drax - Liverpool Biomass empties. Hard ot believe that in just a few years the footbridge at Eastwood has gone from a scenic vantage point to a jungle, such is the growth of the foliage (04/0/2018)
A once familiar sight that wil soon be consigned to history once Northern's new DMUs have been introduced. Running as 1J23 1620 Leeds - Southport, 142065 leads a sister unit past Belfield on the outskirts of Rochdale (05/07/2018)
Despite the seemingly clear blue skies, the one random cloud coincided with the arrival of 66749 on 6M59 1520 Doncaster Down Decoy to Collyhurst Street, pictured here at Belfield (05/07/2018)
With the light having reverted to the afternoon's default position after the unfortunately timed interruption, a lone 142052 heads towards Rochdale with the 2K64 1719 Blackburn - Kirkby (05/07/2018)
As the shadows lengthen and the sunlight takes on a slightly golden hue, GBRf's 66776 'Joanne' approaches Belfield with 4M09 1628 Biomass empties from Drax to Liverpool (05/07/2018)
Having seemingly found myself a decent photographic spot to make use of on my way home from work, the following afternoon sees 156427 leading an unidentified Northern '150' away from Smithy Bridge on 1J21 1520 Leeds - Southport (06/07/2018)
Following not too far behind was GBRf's 66736 'Wolverhampton Wanderers' approaching Belfield with the 6M37 1125 Arcow Quarry - Pendleton loaded stone train (06/07/2018)
Less successful though was my attempt to find a comparable vantage point in Walsden, where 66758 is seen passing through the station a couple of hours later with 4M09 1628 Drax - Liverpool Biomass empties (06/07/2018)
An East Midlands Trains HST set led by 43058 is captured at speed on the northern approach to Loughborough whilst working 1B128 0745 Nottingham - St Pancras (07/07/2018)
Steam locos 46521 and 48624 along with diesel shunters 13101 and 08694 are pictured outside the GCR loco shed at Loughborough (07/07/2018)
33116 heads a line of locos including 08907 on shed at Loughborough (07/07/2018)
An immaculate 37714 'Cardiff Canton' awaits its next duty in the sidings at Loughborough Central along with 45125 (07/07/2018)
Some lovely early evening sunlight illuminates GBRf's 66758 as it descends from the Pennines at Belfield near Rochdale with 4M09 1628 Drax - Liverpool Biomass Terminal (10/07/2018)
Typically though blue skies of late were nowhere to be seen just a few days later when one of the company's 'celebrity' locos made an appearance on the route! 'Large-logo' liveried 66789 'British Rail 1948 - 1997' heads the 6M59 1402 Scunthorpe Roxby Gullet - Collyhurst empties towards Rochdale at Belfield (13/07/2018)
66181 speeds past Tapton with 6Vxx MIlford West Sidings to Appleford Sidings. I was en route back home from Butterley at the time but on arrival at Chesterfield the quality of the afternoon sunshine tempted me into staying on for an hour to try and capture this scene. I just about got away with it! (15/07/2018)
Against a moody backdrop of Penyghent, DRS' 66304 crosses Ribblehead Viaduct with 6C89 0940 Mountsorrel - Carlisle loaded ballast (18/07/2018)
66783 'The Flying Dustman' slows for the entrance to Blea Moor Up Goods Loop with 6D77 1643 Arcow - Hunslet (17/07/2018)
With the sun being less than kind to me, the 'Biffa Waste' liveried GBRf machine runs round its train (17/07/2018)
Despite the earlier grey skies, it was rapidly turning into a beautiful evening out in the Dales. Having completed the run-round manouevre, 66783 is seen here waiting to proceed south from Blea Moor with 6D77 (17/07/2018)
The timing of the passing clouds was now becoming more than a little annoying! Once again I was denied a potential 'master shot' as 66783 eases its train out of the loop and approaches the north end of Ribblehead Viaduct (17/07/2018)
