55002 + 55015 are pictured on arrival at Swanwick Junction with the 1402 from Ironville to Butterley during the Midland Railway Centre's Diesel Gala. The former was making what was at the time an exceptionally rare visit away from it's home at the National Railway Museum (25/06/1989)

In the adjacent platform was 37421 with the 'Hebridean Heritage' stock the 1710 service from Kyle back to Dingwall later that afternoon (11/09/1989)

37416 is pictured again on arrival back into Dingwall with 2H84. Along with a number of Class 156 DMUs for the Wick and Thurso diagrams, the '37s' were maintained at a temporary facility at Muir of Ord until the line could be re-connected to the national network (11/09/1989)

43068 stands at the buffers after arriving into Bradford Forster Square with 1D42 1550 from Kings Cross. A HST Power Car was booked to work this service forward from Leeds after arriving from London in multiple with one of the recently-introduced Class 91s electric locos, which remained on the rear of the set for this leg. The return journey to Kings Cross was then hauled back to Leeds by a loco - 47413 did the honours today according to my records - despatched from Holbeck each evening to follow the train into the terminus (21/09/1989)
