47580 relaxes in the summer sunshine at Carlisle after an impressive run up the ECML from Peterborough to Leeds via Hambleton, followed by a trip over the 'S&C'. 47826 handled the return leg via the Tyne Valley, with 'Essex' taking over once more from Ipswich (07/08/2010)

47802 'Pride of Cumbria' departs Darlington on the rear of 2Z04 1207 to Sunderland. Northern Rail were running a number of additional shuttles using hired in DRS locomotives and Cargo-D stock to convey thousands of extra passengers bound for the four-day 'Tall Ships' event at Hartlepool (08/08/2010)

Later that afternoon 47802 departs Darlington once more, this time on the rear of 2Z08 1632 to Hartlepool (08/08/2010)

Two sets of stock top-and-tailed by '47'+'57' combinations were employed on the shuttles, and fortunately today the '47s' were on 'opposite' ends, enabling some reasonable 'out-and-back' moves to be undertaken. 47712 'Pride of Carlisle' waits to depart Darlington with 2Z29 1744 to Hartlepool (08/08/2010)

With 47760 having been summoned to York to act as the Scarborough Spa 'standby' locomotive, West Coast were again short of traction for a midweek Statesman Rail charter. 47580 once more found itself in the right place at the right time, and is seen here on arrival at Eastbourne with 1Z58 0528 from Chesterfield (12/08/2010)

Two days later it was almost a case of deja-vu with another tour onto the former Southern Region via the Midland Main Line. DRS provided today's traction, and after '802 had worked the outward leg, 47712 'Pride of Carlisle' waits to depart from Salisbury with Rail Blue Charters' 1Z61 1711 return to Chesterfield (14/08/2010)

Colas Rail have recently begun a trial flow of timber between Ribblehead and the Kronospan works at Chirk. Having arrived with 6Z42, 47739 sets the empty wagons back into the former quarry at Ribblehead for loading (21/08/2010)

Whilst the clouds might have done me earlier in the evening at Selside, there were no such problems with the quality of the light at Ribblehead, where 47739 glistens in the evening sun as it shunts the empty wagons (21/08/2010)
