The following morning 47828 arrives at Peterborough with 1Z52 0505 'Statesman' charter from Ely to Weymouth (07/08/2021)
A circuitous route via Leicester, Bedford, Bletchley and Brentford to finally reach the South Western main line left us with only an hour at Weymouth before it was time to head back home again! Fortunately I'd done my sightseeing a week earlier so after a swift pint and a quick visit to the chippy, 47828 is pictured here on the blocks at the rear of the return leg (07/08/2021)
With watering of the coaches almost completre, 47805 awaits departure from Weymouth with 1Z55 1436 to Ely. What's currently one of only three LSL '47s' in traffic has tended to be kept away from this year's 'Statesman' programme due to a multiple-working fault, but with today's train booked for top-and-tail operation it was an ideal opportunity for it to stretch its legs (07/08/2021)
