The outward leg of today's 'Spirit of the Lakes' charter was once again hauled by 47815, and in a scene remarkably similar to Wednesday the two tone green liveried machine is pictured after arriving in Waverley's former 'Suburban' platforms (10/12/2021)
Later that afternoon 47854 awaits departure from Edinburgh with the 1Z85 1549 return leg to Cleethorpes. Whether it was the Mk1 coaches or just a loco that really sounds like it's back to its best but what followed over the next six hours really was once of the most enjoyable runs I've had behind a '47' all year (10/12/2021)
