The clocks are ticking round to midnight as 47593 prepares to depart from Stevenage with the ECS back to Crewe after arriving with 1Z94. "Where's 47810 then?" I hear you ask. That, my friends, is a long story but after sitting in Tweedmouth Goods Loop for nigh on three hours I did rather enjoy the rather nostalgic run up the ECML (I think we were looped just twice at Morpeth and later on the descent from Stoke Summit) with just the ten coaches and a tail lamp for company (21/10/2019)
Inter City 'Swallow' liveried 47828 is seen at Chesterfield on the rear of 1Z31 1215 Barrow Hill - Chaddeden 'BLS' charter hauled by 31128. The '47' would subsequently perform on the short leg across Derby from the Litchurch Lane Works complex into Chaddesden Sidings (17/11/2019)
I'd only taken the phone with me so apologies for the picture quality: 47828 is pictured again later that evening on arrival into Peterborough with 1Z32 1437 from Chaddesden Sidings. After the '31' had led the train across to Shirebrook via Pinxton, the '47' then became arguably the first of its kind to work a genuine passenger train over the 'Robin Hood' line since its reopening in the mid-1990s (17/11/2019)
