Tour participants clamour for their all-important photos of 47245 at Ormskirk. The buffer stop in the foregorund marks the end of the Merseyrail network, whilst immediately behind me is the platform used by Northern trains from Preston (08/12/2019)
After departing Ormskirk the 'Bootle Brush' went back south to Kirkdale before covering the Kirkby Branch, and eventually reaching Southport via the 'third-rail' line from Sandhills. 47826 is pictured here after arriving at the resort on the rear of 1Z29 1250 from Ormskirk (08/12/2019)
