47746 'Chris Fudge' is pictured again at Bristol Temple Meads having been detached from 1Z43. The train was worked forward from hear by Stanier Pacific 'Duchess of Sutherland' (03/09/2016)

The arrival of 1Z43 into Kingswear was accompanied by the heaviest rainfall I've seen for some time. Despite the weather, 47580 'County of Essex' makes an impressive sight against an equally colourful backdrop (03/09/2016)

Later that afternoon 47580 is pictured again at Newton Abbot with the 1Z44 1612 Kingswear - Paddington return leg. 'County of Essex' once again ran round to the rear of the train here with 'Duchess of Sutherland' taking over as far as Bristol (03/09/2016)

47851 had earlier led 1Z41 to Chester via Altricnham before a reversal saw it's class-mate work the bulk of the outward leg. The former is seen here at Portsmouth Harbour before departing with 5Z42 1348 ECS to Fratton (14/09/2016)

47826 had earlier worked the incoming 1Z84 forward from Llandudno Junction, and is seen here at Blaenau Ffestiniog whilst the '57' was shunting the empty stock back into the platform (17/09/2016)

47826 arrives back into the platform at Blaenau Ffestiniog with the stock for NENTA's 1Z85 1610 return charter to Norwich. The loco was making only its second appearance of the year on passenger duty after ongoing repairs and worked the train forward from Llandudno Junction through to Ipswich (17/09/2016)

The following day 47826 was in charge of the 5Zxx 1133 ECS move from Norwich back to Carnforth, seen here thundering through Kettlesbeck in the Yorkshire Dales (18/09/2016)

47245 waits to depart from Stafford with PMR Tours' 1Z61 0605 charter to Scarborough, which it worked as far as Crewe (24/09/2016)

I wouldn't normally bother with an overnight stay for a short run on the 'diesel' leg of a 'steam' tour, but on the other end of 1Z61 was class-mate 47237, and it's been incredibly rare for both of these 'no-heat' machines to feature on the same train. The loco is in the process of being detached at Derby after working forward from Crewe via Uttoxeter (24/09/2016)

47830 'BEECHING'S LEGACY' passes though the cutting at Paddock on the outskirts of Huddersfield with an additional 4M30 1221 Hunslet Yard - Crewe Basford Hall empty wagon move. The Autumn sun was just too low in the sky for what I was trying to do here, but '47s' over the Standedge route have been few and far between this year so worth a go (02/10/2016)

47826 is in full cry as it storms the gradient at Gale on the approach to Summit Tunnel with West Coast Railways' 1Z29 0635 Southport - Whitby charter. 57313 was on the rear, hence why I was lineside on my way to work rather than having a day out on the train (05/10/2016)
