47760 waits to depart from MoSI with the return BLS charter to Carnforth. The backdrop of 21st Century steel/glass and 19th Century warehousing is certainly a striking one (03/11/2013)
So near and yet so far... a last-minute request from the local branch of the 'Evil Empire' had seen the locomotives swapped over so that the '37' could also lead the return leg. Having been detached from the front of the train, 47760 is pictured in the yard at MoSI (03/11/2013)
Space constraints within the site meant that the charter actually had to depart before the '47' could be attached to the rear of the train. As I was wandering around the site taking photos at the time, this could have been embarrassing had the loco-swap not taken place! Here's a last look at 47760 before leaving the museum (03/11/2013)
