47200+47316 reverse the empty stock back into Penzance station before working 1Z28 1610 return Pathfinder charter to Chester, With the pair working in multiple throughout, this became the highest mileage '47'-hauled day trip to date at 1477 miles (14/08/2004)

The following day 47828 'Severn Valley Railway' is pictured at Holyhead with the SuO 1A75 1610 to London Euston, which today terminated at Crewe so the stock could return to Anglesey later that evening as '1D88' (15/08/2004)

Costwold Rail's unique Anglia-liveried 47714 is pictured at Norwich with 1G49 1212 to London Liverpool Street. This train was one of a pair on each direction booked for diesel-haulage via Cambridge during the eight-week engineering blockade of Ipswich Tunnel (16/08/2004)

Still carrying the green livery of its previous user (albeit minus the 'Great Western' branding) 47813 awaits departure from Norwich with 1G09 0630 to Liverpool Street (17/08/2004)

The third of the trio of Cotswold Rail '47s' employed on the diversions was 47818, which had recently been repainted into 'One Anglia' colours. The loco awaits departure from Norwich with 1G09 0630 to Liverpool Street (18/08/2004)

47818 was in action again the following day, and is seen here at Norwich with 1G49 1212 to London (19/08/2004)

The following day 47853 'Rail Express' awaits departure from Holyhead with 1H52 1339 to Manchester Piccadilly. This service was in its second week of a temporary spell of loco-haulage because of a shortage of '175' DMUs (23/08/2004)

Having run round its train, 47829 awaits departure from Stafford with 1F13 1153 to Liverpool. These trains required diesel haulage because of the diversion via Warrington Bank Quay during an engineering block on the main line through Runcorn (29/08/2004)
