The unique green-liveried 47114 'Freightlinerbulk' approaches the foot crossing at Kirkthorpe with 4O07 2029 Leeds - Southampton. Previous observations suggested this particular intermodal working tended to be hauled by a '57' but on this occasion it was certainly worth waiting around for (13/07/2001)

An immaculate 47799 'Prince Henry' is pictured on arrival at Derby with Cheshire Railtours' 1Z38 0640 Crewe - Carlisle charter (14/07/2001)

By the time 1Z38 had reached its destination by means of the ECML and Tyne Valley the weather had deteriorated somewhat: 47799 is pictured again on arrival at Carlisle (14/07/2001)

With the sun almost making an appearance, 47799 'Prince Henry' is seen here at the head of the 1500 return leg from Carlisle to Derby during a photo-stop at Ribblehead.The Royal Train loco worked 1Z39 as far as Crewe, where '776 took over for the run back to Derby via Uttoxeter (14/07/2001)

47747 'Graham Farish' arrives at Sheffield with the SuO 1E26 0935 Birmingham - Newcastle. For several weeks this service was booked to arrive via Beighton and run round, hence its appearance at the north end of the station (15/07/2001)

Later that day 47727 is pictured again waiting to head back to Crewe from Holyhead with 1A62 1335 to London Euston (28/07/2001)

One of pair of locos dedicated to the Royal Train, 47799 'Prince Henry' is pictured on arrival at Crewe with the SuO 1A02 0358 Holyhead - Euston. Although booked to come off at Stafford, the '47' worked the train through to London on this occasion. Oops... (29/07/2001)
