47296 is pictured again departing Peterborough. On this occasion the train had been diverted via Oakham due to an obstruction on the ECML, which had needed a run-round at Nottingham (14/08/1993)

Now adorned with RfD 'Diamonds', former Immingham Petroluem sector 47223 is pictured on arrival at Birmingham New Street with 1M03 1014 ex-Great Yarmouth (14/8/1993)

Knowing that one of the rakes off the Saturday 'Yarmouth' circuit was booked for this train, we'd anticipated that one of the RfD machines would also feature, so the appearance of 47584 seemed at the time to be a bit of a let-down. No complaints from me with the benefit of hindsight though (15/08/1993)

Morecambe Promenade station was due for closure and redevelopment soon after this train ran. A new structure more suited to 2-car DMUs was opened approximately 1/4 mile up the line towards Lancaster, and a car park occupies the spot where 47501 and its train stood in this scene (15/08/1993)

A few hours on the fueller and some rare track seems to have made up for the initial disappointment with the traction earlier this morning (15/08/1993)

One of the few examples still carrying the short-lived 'red-stripe' Railfreight livery, 47302 'Meridian' is pictured on arrival at Birmingham New Street with 1M93 1014 from Great Yarmouth (21/08/1993)

Two days later 47828 calls at Leicester with 1F50 1350 St Pancras-Sheffield (27/08/1993)

The 1V64 1408 Newcastle-Plymouth RES service was once again in the platform when '828 arrived in Sheffield on 1F50 - today with 47578 in charge (27/08/1993)
