However, after repeated difficulties with 'dragging brakes' (which weren't rectified by the removal of a coach at Bangor) the train was terminated on arrival at Rhyl over ninety minutes late. Having shunted the train across to the 'down' platform, 47525 is re-attached to the set after running round in order to return the errant vehicles to Holyhead (11/08/1991)

Today was one of those rare days when you were quite literally spoiled for choice: whatever you did was a 'good' move, but whatever everyone else did was probably a 'better' one! 47304 is pictured on arrival at Manchester Victoria with 2J35 1354 from Holyhead (24/08/1991)

In a year when many of the 'larger' no-heat '47s' embarked on refresher courses in coaching stock, the appearance of 47304 was perhaps not unexpected. It did however finally erase some painful memories for the character seen here posing alongside his 507th 'Brush' (24/08/1991)

Almost unnoticed, but certainly the most outrageous working of the day (if not the whole summer) was 47376's trip from Manchester to Poole and on a '47/8' diagram! 'Skylark' is seen arriving back into Stoke on Trent with 1M14 1340 Poole-Manchester (24/08/1991)
